US Cops Witness Ineptitude on TerrorA group of U.S. law enforcement professionals witnessed from up close Monday what a security expert says is feebleness by Israeli security forces against Arab terror at the Mount of Olives Cemetery.

The security professionals were being shown around by Marc Kahlberg, a well-known counter-terror consultant and teacher.

Kahlberg told Arutz Sheva that the parking lot at the cemetery was almost completely empty – and that he saw this as unusual, and a possible sign that something was wrong. He took the guests to one of the balconies overlooking the valley, "and then I heard glass shattering behind me. Instinctively I went to the parking lot – and I saw that there is nobody there, no buses."

"Then I see two Jewish guys – one in his 70s, and the other in his 60s, and I see that their car has been smashed and one of them is bleeding. There were a couple of Russian tourists there and I told them to wait for the police to come."

Kahlberg said that the two men had been attacked by dozens of Arab youths when they were driving up to the cemetery. He added that he is certain that if the men had not kept on driving – they would have been lynched.

Kahlberg says the incident was an unfortunate way to end the visit to Israel by law enforcement professionals and that it put Israel's security forces in a bad light. Police were slow to respond to his call for them to come, he said, and the general atmosphere was one of feebleness. There is no permanent police presence at the holy site despite the almost routine attacks on Jews there.

"Attacks at the cemetery are going on  http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/152605#.Tz7wWNW6WuJ  and it doesn't matter how many cameras are there," he said. "There has to be something proactive over there. It needs to stop."

"When we went out there was a semi-formal police convoy escorting us," he recounted. "The Arab youths in the village were shouting at us and it was like driving through Gaza in the old days."

Kahlberg is a former Israeli police officer and spokesman.

Israeli Arab Children Taught to 'Guard Temple Mount'
29 juli 2011, Tammuz 27, 5771
by Maayana Miskin

Children Told: Defend Al-Aksa Thousands of Israeli Arab youth are being taught to defend Muslim dominance on the Temple Mount, under programs sponsored by the Islamic Movement, the Israel-based branch of the Muslim Brotherhood.

“This generation will be the generation of victory, the generation that defends the place from which the prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven,” according to Dr. Hikmat Namna of the Organization to Develop Al-Aksa, which has played a part in the educational program.

An estimated 6,000 Israeli Muslim children from 33 Arab towns in Israel have taken part in the program, which includes a tour of the Temple Mount. Children are also given pamphlets with stories about Mohammed and the Al-Aksa mosque.

The northern branch of the Islamic Movement is lead by Sheikh Raed Salah, a Hamas supporter and open enemy of Israel who was recently jailed in Britain for violating a travel ban. Salah has previously stated that Jerusalem and the Temple Mount are exclusively Muslim, and has led attempts to boost the Muslim presence in the area.

The Al-Aksa Organization has released incitement regarding the Temple Mount as well, including accusations of Israeli attempts to damage the Al Aksa mosque and defile the area.

Digging on Temple Mount 'to Erase Traces of Jewish Altar'
by Gil Ronen
March 2, 2011, Adar 26, 5771

Muslim religious authorities are concluding a clandestine eight-month dig on the Temple Mount that is intended to erase traces of the Jewish Temple's Altar, Temple activists charge.

The digs have been taking place under the Dome of the Chain, believed to have been built over 1300 years ago. For eight months, the dome - which has a diameter of 14 meters - has been surrounded by a metal fence and black cloth, which hide whatever activity has been going on there from outside inspection. The Muslim Waqf religious authority has claimed the activity is simply a refurbishing of the structure, but refuses adamantly to let Jews or tourists near.

Jewish activists made various attempts to enter the Dome, but met with no success. In the end, the Our Temple Mount news outlet found an Arab who was willing to take photos inside the compound in return for a handsome fee (see below). The man said that it appears the Waqf has already completed its digs and is now covering the dig with dirt.

Our Temple Mount notes that according to Jewish tradition, the place where the Dome of the Chain is located is the spot upon which the sacrificial Altar stood in Temple times. Temple activists said that the Muslim digs are intended to erase the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount.

Arabs Angered by Western Wall Plaza Elevator

Arabs are fighting plans for an elevator to allow disabled Jews to reach the Western Wall, claiming the project is a threat to the Al Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount.

The 56-meter elevator would be located in the Jewish Quarter next to the Aish HaTorah Yeshiva, according to the media watchdog Independent Media Review Analysis (IMRA).

The Al Aqsa Foundation, however, claimed Monday the $10 million structure is to be located adjacent to the Al Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount, and is whipping up a frenzied protest against the project.

The location of the elevator, to be named after Baruch Klein, the American businessman funding the project – and the yeshiva – is actually far from the mosque, on the other side of the Western Wall plaza.

But the project is being seen by the Al Aqsa Foundation as a threat to the Al Aqsa Mosque, according to the Palestinian Authority-linked Ma'an news agency.

The Al Aqsa Foundation also claimed in a statement that the area in front of the wall could be used as a base from which to attack the mosque compound. Moreover, it said the project was intended to prevent Muslim worshipers from reaching the mosque, while increasing the presence of Jews in the area.

The mosque, which sits atop the Temple Mount and adjacent to the Western Wall, is considered Islam's third holiest site. The Temple Mount on which it is built, however, is the holiest site in the Jewish faith, and is where the Holy of Holies in both the First and Second Temples was located.

Previous Arab and Muslim incitement over building projects in the Jewish quarter of the Old City has led to riots and attacks on Jewish civilians.

Schoolkinderen op de tempelberg
28 augustus 2010

Double Joy: Prayer at Temple Mount Before Daughter Weds
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
13 april 2010 / Nisan 29, 5770

Temple Mount activist Yehuda Glick won a seven-month battle on Sunday and prayed at the holy site with his 19-year-old daughter, just hours before she married in a ceremony in Bnei Brak. He told Israel National News they prayed at the site and were escorted by two policemen and another guard.

“According to the law, you can pray on the Temple Mount, but cannot ‘demonstrate’ by moving the body in a fashion that indicates praying or by holding a prayer book,” he explained. “I can stand and move my lips. They are not going to read my lips to know what I am saying.”

Nevertheless, one of the policemen filmed him and his daughter for 20 minutes. Glick revealed that he prayed for the safe release of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit and American prisoner-for-life Jonathan Pollard. “I also praised the A-lmighty and prayed that all Jews visit the Temple Mount," he added.

Glick, former head of the Templebased on allegations that his appearance would provoke violence among Muslims. Glick maintains that Arabs “know me Mount Institute that has re-created many of the holy items used in ancient sacrifices, said that police consider Jews as strangers on the Temple Mount, but that if more Jews visit, the situation will change.

Police had prevented him from visiting the holy site and have a good relationship with me. I wish the police would have the same relationship, but they do not like me.” There were no disturbances during the visit by Glick and his daughter.

The High Court previously accepted Glick’s petition charging police with discrimination, and the justices ordered that he be allowed to visit the Temple Mount. Police refused to honor the order, however, and he filed two more petitions with the court. Finally, two weeks ago, the court set December 26 as a final date for police cooperation.

After several meetings between the police and Glick, he finally was allowed to visit late Thursday, when it was too late to make the necessary Halakhic (Jewish ritual) preparations. Jews are prohibited from the Temple Mount on Friday, the Muslim holy day of the week, and the next possible date was Sunday, the eve of his daughter’s marriage.

Israelische politie bestormt Tempelberg alweer
