Arabs Attack Israeli Police in Ras al-Amoud
2 januari 2012, Tevet 6, 5772
by Chana Ya'ar
Arabs attacked police Sunday morning in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Maaleh HaZeitim, also known as Ras al-Amoud, where soon more Jewish families are expected to be moving in.
The neighborhood is located in the eastern section of Israel's capital city of Jerusalem and has been the focus of conflict since Jewish families moved into the area just before last summer.
Quoting an eyewitness, the Palestinian Authority news agency WAFA claimed clashes began when an Israeli police patrol stopped to question a group of PA Arab youths, "and attempted to arrest one minor."
The youths hurled rocks and empty bottles at the patrol, which responded with riot control measures, including tear gas and "sound grenades," according to WAFA, and "chased them in the area streets."
Three weeks ago, the Jerusalem municipality approved a new 17-unit Jewish housing complex in the neighborhood, to be called Maaleh David. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/150516#.TwJUbtWvkVp
The four-story building was once used by the Judea and Samaria District Police Station, which took it over when the area was restored to Jerusalem during the 1967 Six Day War.
Plans to build the project were submitted to the government more than two years ago.

The building was recently returned to its owner, the Bukharan Trust, which renovated it and transformed it into an apartment complex.
Muslims Set Aside $30 Million for 'Keeping Jerusalem Muslim'
by Gil Ronen
15 augustus 2010
Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif – the Holy Al Quds Fund – announced at week's end after convening in Rabat, Morocco, that it will invest $30 million in projects for “safeguarding the Arabic and Islamic nature” of the Old City of Jerusalem.
The Fund, an affiliate of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, was set up in 1998 by King Hassan II of Morocco. It defines itself as a not-for-profit Islamic institution that seeks “to establish and preserve the Islamic and Arab rights” in Jerusalem and “to help its people remain steadfast on their lands.”
The organization's director, Abd el-Kareem Al-Alawi, said that a fund raising drive had begun and that the money would go toward “vital projects” such as the purchase of land in eastern Jerusalem.
In the coming year, he said, an effort would be made to continue to purchase land as part of a project to revive the so-called “Mughrabi Waqf.” The Mughrabis were North African warriors who joined the army of Salah ad-Din (Saladin) in his 12th century conquest of Jerusalem. The conqueror granted the Mughrabis some land to safeguard.
The plan includes the operation of Beit El-Maghreb as a cultural center in the heart of Jerusalem, funding for education and health, and “safeguarding” of the Al Aqsa Mosque and other historic Islamic sites.
Sheikh Raad Salah, who heads the Islamic Movement within Israel, said after a May 2008 visit to Morocco that the numerous Muslim Waqf sites in Jerusalem and elsewhere were given to the Mughrabis for eternity as holy land and now belong to Morocco and other North African countries from which the warriors hailed.
The waqf areas, he said, include the Kotel Plaza, Ein Karem, part of the town of Ramleh and other sites in Jerusalem and Israel. The idea of demanding that Israel hand over these “Waqf” sites has already come up for debate in the parliaments of Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania.
The latest Muslim ploy to expand Waqf land by building a fake cemetery was exposed by Arutz Sheva and foiled.
300 Fake Tombstones Removed So Far at Jerusalem Muslim Cemetery
by Gil Ronen
8 december 2010
The Jerusalem Municipality has thus far removed 300 false tombstones that were built in the course of the past few weeks at the Mamilla Muslim cemetery in central Jerusalem. The tombs were built by Muslim elements who took advantage of the fact that the Jerusalem Municipality's Health Department granted them a permit to clean up and fix existing tombstones. Instead of just cleaning graves, however, the Muslims hired workers to try and grab land from the adjoining Independence Park (Gan HaAtzmaut).
After the land-grab hoax was discovered by Arutz Sheva, the Jerusalem Municipality filed a complaint with the police and immediately put a stop to all work at the site. On Monday this week, a court rejected the Muslims' request for a temporary order against the Municipality and granted the Municipality permission to remove the fictitious new tombstones.
Each new tombstone is dismantled only after an expert from the Antiquities Authority inspects it and confirms that it is indeed a new tombstone.
The new tombstones had no graves or human remains beneath them. Plastic bottles, cigarette packs and irrigation pipes were found beneath some of them. Others were built atop a sewage pipe.

Exclusive: Arabs Faking Graves to Grab Jerusalem Land
by Gil Ronen, Chezki Ezra and Shimon Cohen
4 augustus 2010
In the heart of Jerusalem, dozens of new tombs are being added to an ancient cemetery, but no one is buried beneath them. Jewish observers and sources in the Jerusalem Municipality say the pretend-graves are simply a Muslim project for grabbing land.
The Mamilla Cemetery is located on the outskirts of Jerusalem's Independence Park (Gan HaAtzmaut), between Agron and Hillel Streets. It is an ancient Muslim cemetery containing several dozen graves, which has been in a state of severe disrepair for more than a century, despite being under the supervision of the Muslim Waqf.
In recent days, however, there has been much hustle and bustle in the cemetery, and its seems to be growing from day to day, cutting into land that is a part of Independence Park. Trucks, tractors and other heavy machines come and go, dumping building materials, which workers then shape into Muslim-style tombstones with no one buried beneath them. Dozens of these faux-graves are being created on the eastern end of the park, in row after row, where only bare earth and grassy areas existed until now.
Some of the fake tombs have been completed and others are in the process of being built.
Arutz Sheva's Chezki Ezra visited the site following a tip from a local resident and was surprised to see many dozens of new "tombs." He estimated their number as approaching 100.
Funding from the Gulf?
“They are trying to take over this territory,” a municipality gardener said. The Arab workers who dumped stones at the site did not answer Arutz Sheva's questions and made haste to leave instead. Other municipality employees who were at the site confirmed that the construction is a Muslim land grab. Several tombstones were dug up, revealing no ancient graves or even remnants of graves underneath them, they said, adding that the municipality “is aware of the activity” and that it has initiated legal moves against the “tomb planters.”
Another worker at the site said that the “tomb planting” project was being financed by a rich Muslim from one of the Gulf states. Yet another employee said that the police “instructed the Muslims to stop their activity immediately” but that they are ignoring that instruction.
Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem David Hadari heard about the matter from Arutz Sheva and was dumbstruck by the news. “I am in a state of total shock,” he said. “Arutz Sheva has discovered the naked truth, and I intend to immediately turn to the Municipality Director to make use of all of the municipal enforcement arms so that while honoring the Muslim's deceased, we will not honor Muslim fictions that are simply intended to capture more land in eastern Jerusalem.”
MK Nisim Ze'ev (Shas) said the matter was a very serious one. “The Jerusalem Municipality is allowing complete abandonment of territory and assets," he said. "The Arabs are trying to conquer the Land of Israel in every possible way. If we do not wake up to their conniving ways we will find ourselves before a gaping chasm. We need to plow the area and take down all of the fictitious tombs.”
The apparent impotence of Jerusalem authorities in the face of brazen Arab land-grabs is also apparent in the matter of a huge wall that has been built around a Turkish cemetery. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/138885
The Muslims may be taking advantage of Israeli reluctance to act assertively regarding its land, in the face of pressure from the Obama administration over Jewish construction in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the razing of illegal Arab structures there.
Municipality Responds
In response to Arutz Sheva's query, the Jerusalem Municipality said: “The Jerusalem Municipality located the illegal activity at the site yesterday. The Municipality has contacted the Israel lands Authority as the owner of the land to return things to their former state. The Municipality will not allow extremist elements to act illegally to change the status quo.”
